Celtic spikes flower/star on JPL, salvaged 19swg RG6 TV coax cable:

The star itself is about as wide as a standard SD card, if that helps for scale at all.

Hmmm, wasn't really paying attention to time. If I'd have to guess it'd be something like 3-4 hours, but that includes winding the wire and cutting the rings. And watching TV. Poke!

Sweet. Not sure I have the patience for it, to be honest.

It's not so bad, having a good set of instructions takes most of the frustration out (so long as you're using the right size rings). Of course, I haven't tried any big projects yet either, so....

I just finished my first sale piece (well, mostly finished--need to find out which clasp the client wants) and figured now would be a good time to set up the lightbox and take some pictures. Especially since I intend to enter that piece into the MAIL Artisans theme contest Very Happy

This is gonna be pic-heavy, and the pics are fairly large because I'm too lazy to try resizing, so I'm going to use spoiler tags.

ETA: ok, managed to resize one of the pictures because it had to be smaller per the contest rules. Not quite sure how I did it though, as I couldn't get any other pictures to resize. Also, contest has been entered. I have absolutely no expectation of winning, but still. This is exciting Very Happy

First is the Rosetta bracelet that I'm selling/entering in the contest. The silver rings are bright aluminum and the black are enameled copper.

Spoiler:

This is a Viperscale bracelet made with bright aluminum and...bronze, I think?
Spoiler:

A dragonscale necklace made with enameled copper
Spoiler:

Two dragonscale bracelets made with enameled copper
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

And now some non-maille stuff that I want to share anyway:

Two pictures of the damascus dagger I bought at a Ren Faire awhile back
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

A necklace made by Eric's cousin using Precious Metal Clay
Spoiler:

An ivory dragon pin inherited from Eric's grandfather
Spoiler:

Two dragon pendants I got as gifts from Eric's mom. First is pewter, second is jade and gold
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

And last is a little dragon...bracelet? Maybe? I dunno, it's tiny and I have absolutely no idea where it came from.
Spoiler:

Check this out!

The really, really cool part of this is the center bit: where the full Persian becomes a helm chain. This is really, really cool--I've never thought of that before, but now that I see an example it seems to be a fairly obvious progression (if you get the AR right). I'm goinig to have to play with that when I get home!
