I dunno... the Hobbit panel at CC made it seem like he was worried about how much time he had to work on other things... in terms of his life expectancy.. lol. I think if they'd strung him along too much longer, he'd have cut the cord.

Well of course had this been several years down the road it would have been a different story. Notice that once they finally had everything ready to go, signing him was easy.

Just waiting on Sirkis and Weaving now I think. Though there may have been a mixup and McKellan may actually still be in negotiations. I wouldn't worry though. I am sure he will be back!

They actually started filming on the 20th of March! Can't wait for this to come out!
