So i have decided that i will in fact reread the Wheel of Time series in preparation for The Gathering Storm.

So 11 books in 57 days gives me a little over 5 days to read each book.

Here we go.

I'm in the middle of writing two different stories, with another in the line up eventually. One is the webcomic I'm working on (see the Creative Writing forum for the prologue and 1st chapter, to help me out on it) and my favorite is pretty much my personal story about a boy and girl who fall in love but lose touch. The boy is in the Navy, which the girl doesn't know. She also joins the Navy and she runs into him at her first command. They have to reconcile their love with their personal careers.
The story on the back burner is about a civil war soldier who gets propelled forward in time on the day of the South's surrender and runs into a crazy history professor who loves the civil war.

I'm learning to make wire art (chainmail, celtic knots, etc). At the moment I'm making shamrocks (the wire's green and tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day, so it seemed appropriate).

let see, it's been almost a year since I had time to update...

Lately, it has been work, work, work. Cool stuff, annoying stuff, but certainly time consuming stuff.

I am still thinking about that multi-player thing, it's a web dungeon board (or whatever uses a squares-based board, like most D&D, although I wonder how hard it would be to do a hexagonal board...interesting...)

I have my bachelor's degree. Now, I am studying for a battery of CompTIA certifications. For those who don't know, CompTIA is a certifying body for entry level computer-related knowledge, although some of their tests are so deep, calling them "entry level" is a borderline oxymoron.

Also, D&D.

My major project right now is making pirate costumes. My husband, 21yr old son and I are going to comic con this year for our vacation and picked a pirate theme for our costumes. So far I've made leather pirate hats, coats ans vestd. We bought our shirts and boot but I will be making the breeches next.

When are you going down there Epiphany? My brother and I will be driving down on Sunday the 18th of July, for our comic con adventure.

We are driving down Tuesday the 20th and staying until the following Tuesday, this because of our son's work schedule, but it should be a blast. We like doing new things for our vacations and this seemed to fit with things we've done in the past. We're staying in a cabin at the KOA so we can have more to spend at the convention.

Huzzah! Another mailler in the making Very Happy

Three sites I use regularly are MAIL Artisans, CG Maille, and The Ring Lord.

Not really sure what kind of tips you're looking for. I second the recommendation to start a thread for chainmaille.

I figured I'd revive the thread. Very Happy

I'm currently working on a modified bizantine maille choaker. Basically just two strands of byzantine, with connector rings alternating between running parallel and perpendicular to the strands. Looks really cool. I made a test piece with galvy, and my little sister fell in love with it. So I'm making her one out of stainless steel.

This was something of a mistake. I'm used to galvy, copper, brass, that sort of thing. You know, normal metals. Stainless is evil. Several times now I've had to stop because I was shredding my hands, and I've lost feeling in both index fingers and various other parts of my hands (which makes typing much more interesting). I've gotten the system down, mostly, and it's about 2/3 done, so that shouldn't be a huge problem. And I have until next August. Hopefully I'll post pictures soon. Very Happy

Well right now I'm working on the prologue to my story, as well as the third chapter.

Sweet.

I stepped away from Evanesence for a time, because I wanted to distance myself from the story in order to feel better about chopping it to itty-bitty peices and starting all over... LOL

In the meantime I'm working on STRAYS, with four chapters posted in the CWG.

I *was* going to work on a Helm Chain necklace in aluminum (I've made one in steel, but my steel cutters have issues that resulted in less-than-satisfactory closures). Last night I coiled and cut a bunch of rings, only to realize too late that they were the wrong sizes. No biggie, I'll just wrap/cut more out tonight.....except I'm out of aluminum.
Argh!

My creativity is itching... my characters have gotten restless... so I'm back to working on Voice of Destiny, the novel that will not freakin' end. It makes so much sense in my head by I've been working on it for 5 years now. My characters keep throwing me surprises that cause me to have to go back and add major stuff earlier in the story or flesh out something that I originally didn't think was that important. Thankfully, the end is in sight. I'd say less than 50,000 words to go, plus the need to go back and flesh out one last scene. (Or at least that is what my notes tell me. Sigh. I'm sure there will be more.) We'll not count the couple of scenes that I need to go back and add to the first book - that's just too depressing.

I have a small, hidden hope of finishing it by November so I can start on the next one for NaNoWriMo. If not I'll probably just pull up one of my "to work on when VoD is threatening to destroy my consciousness" novels to use for November.

On a non-writing front - I'm toying with picking up knitting again, teaching myself to crochet, and starting a quilt for my older son's bed.
