Saw this on FB the other day. Really get a kick out of seeing that 10-minute adaptation (if one wants to call it that... LOL). That said, I think he looks at it wrong. If I was looking forward to seeing the book I'd just read the book. In this case, I want a movie. I don't want a direct translation... been there, read that. Now I want to see how others interpret the story.
Yes, the Tolkien books are everything Pat says they are. He's got a number of great points and I can't argue them. I wouldn't want to. It's just that his points aren't necessarily aligned with my own view on the matter.
I honestly hope the movie gets people to pick up the book again... it's an excellent read and I look forward to jumping into it again before the movie comes out in December.
